Mayor's Open House

- Location: City Hall - Mayor's Office

Mayor Tari Renner is planning a change in format for his Mayor’s Open Houses in order to give individual residents more attention to address their specific issues or problems. Instead of meeting as a group in the “Fishbowl” conference room at City Hall, people wanting to meet with the Mayor will be able to sign up for a five or ten minute individual appointment with the Mayor. These appointments may be made by calling City Administration at 309-434-2210, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or in person by 4:30 pm on the day of the Open House. People with discussion topics requiring more than 10 minutes should consult with City Administration for a longer meeting with the Mayor at a different time.
“This change is in response to comments I’ve received from the public wanting a one-on-one opportunity to bring their questions and concerns to me,” explains Mayor Renner. “If someone takes the time and care to come and talk to me directly, I want to give them my full attention. These Open Houses have always been an opportunity to promote citizen involvement in government and get problems solved in real time, and this change will serve to heighten these objectives.”
Open Houses take place from 4:30-5:30 pm on Fridays before regular City Council meetings (2nd and 4th Mondays). The change in format began October 6th.
