Armed Robbery - One Arrested, One Suspect At Large

On Friday, July 14, 2017, at approximately 9:38 p.m., Bloomington Police Officers responded to an Armed Robbery at Schlotsky’s Deli, in the 500 block of IAA Drive. It was reported two suspects entered the store, armed with a knife and demanded money from an employee. The employee was battered by the suspects, who took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot.

When officers arrived in the immediate area, they learned an employee was wrestling one of the suspects near the intersection of IAA and Rowe Drive. Officers placed one suspect into custody. Officers also took possession of a knife found nearby.

Bloomington Fire Rescue arrived, the two employees refused treatment and the suspect was transported to St. Joseph Hospital.

Upon his release from the hospital, Jalun E. Caddell, age 19, of Ypsilanti, Michigan was arrested for Armed Robbery.

A second suspect described as black male, approximately 25-30 years of age remains at large.

Caddell was transported to the McLean County Jail.
