Fatal Accident Arrest and Request for Information

On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at approximately 11:28 a.m., Bloomington Police and Bloomington Fire Rescue responded to the area of Morrissey Drive and Chrisman Lane for a vehicle accident.

Officers arrived on scene with rescue and located two occupants in a vehicle with serious injuries. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle leave the scene, traveling north on Route 150.

Representatives from the McLean County Coroner's office responded to the scene and a female occupant was pronounced deceased at 12:43 p.m. The name of the decedent is being withheld at this time pending further notification of family. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, September 14, 2017.

A male victim was transported by Bloomington Fire Rescue to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.

On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, members of BPD's Patrol, Criminal Investigation Division, and Street Crimes Unit arrested Darin R. Scott, age 54, of Bloomington for Hit and Run and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Scott was transported to the McLean County Jail.

Bloomington Police received information, which lead to BPD Detectives obtaining a search warrant. After their initial investigation, Scott was taken into custody.

The Bloomington Police Department is working in partnership with the McLean County Coroner's Office regarding the investigation.
