Man Arrested After Threatening Two with Handgun
On Saturday, October 7, 2017, at approximately 1:19 a.m., Bloomington Police responded to the area of Main and Mulberry for a report of an Armed Subject.
It was reported a black male, with a bald head and beard, displayed a handgun at the victims. The suspect then fled east on foot.
Upon arrival in the immediate area, officers observed a subject matching the provided description. The suspect ran from officers and after a foot pursuit, he was apprehended. A handgun was located by BPD K-9 Rosco near where the suspect has been seen earlier.
Joseph T. Thornton, age 46, of Bloomington was arrested for Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon/Parole and Multiple Counts of Aggravated Assault/Use of a Deadly Weapon.
Thornton was transported to the McLean County Jail.
