Pedestrain Accident

On Friday, November 3, 2017, at approximately 6:14 a.m., Bloomington Police officers responded to the 1700 block of West Market Street to investigate a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the roadway.

Officers arrived to find an unconscious, but breathing pedestrian, in the intersection of Market and Caroline. Bloomington Fire Rescue arrived and transported the pedestrian to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.

Bloomington Police Accident Reconstruction Team was dispatched to the scene for the investigation.

The driver and witnesses were interviewed at the scene. The driver refused medical treatment and was released on scene.

The pedestrian was a 63-year-old-female from Chicago, IL. A witness stated the pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing and crossed against the traffic control light. The female was seen crossing Market Street from the north when she was struck.
