Double Homicide

On Sunday, June 10, 2018 at approximately 1:09 a.m., the Bloomington Police Department responded to the area of 1221 Orchard Street, Bloomington, IL., to investigate multiple reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims (one male, one female) who were declared deceased at the scene. Two additional victims (one male, one female) were found to have non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The surviving victims were transported to area hospitals. All victims were adults. There is reason to believe there was large gathering at this location, prior to the shooting.

Representatives from the McLean County Coroner's office responded to the scene and an adult female and male were pronounced deceased at 1:17 a.m. The female has been identified as Taneshiea A. Brown, age 20, of Bloomington. The male has been identified as Steven C. Alexander Jr., age 18, of Bloomington.

On Sunday, June 10, 2018, McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis stated an autopsy was conducted and preliminary autopsy findings indicate that Taneshiea A. Brown succumbed to injuries from being shot. Steven C. Alexander Jr. succumbed to injuries from being shot. Toxicology results are pending.

The Bloomington Police Department is working in partnership with the McLean County Coroner's Office regarding the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
