Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection Begins October 1
The 2018 Fall Bulk Waste Collection will take place on October 1, 2018. Bulk waste is collected as part of the City of Bloomington's Solid Waste Program. The Public Works department collects bulk waste placed at the curb each spring and fall at no additional charge.
All bulk waste for the Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on October 1st. Solid Waste Program users will not be charged for any amount of household bulk waste placed at the curb by this deadline.
After the Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection is complete (approximately 15 working days), those who did not place items at the curb by the deadline have the option of taking items to the Citizen Convenience Center at no additional charge or requesting a pickup at a cost of $25 per bucket (about 2.5 cubic yards) for household bulk waste and $100 per bucket for sod, dirt, concrete, rocks and shingles. To request a pickup outside of the spring and fall collection period, Solid Waste Program users can use MyBloomington, available on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and at www.cityblm.org/mybloomington. To find the request type, search “Bulk Waste Pickup" within MyBloomington.
During the Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection, crews will collect brush at the same time as bulk waste, not on regular free brush collection days. Regular bi‐weekly free brush collection will resume after the Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection is complete.
