Status of the 2018 Fall Leaf Collection (12-14-2018)
Public Works crews are continuing to use leaf vacuums to collect leaves as part of the Fall Leaf Collection. The dates in the map linked below are projected start dates for leaf collection with leaf vacuums. However, please ensure that leaves are out as soon as possible, because crews may start in these areas early. Vacuum leaf collection will continue until all leaves placed in the parkway have been collected (typically two or three times) or until equipment is no longer useful (such as in subzero temperatures). Once the leaf collection with leaf vacuums is complete, crews will continue to collect leaves during regularly-scheduled brush pickup throughout the year.
Leaves should be raked to the back of the curb on the grass; to the shoulder of the road; or at the edge or near your driveway. No bagged leaves are permitted at this time. Keep piles of leaves no higher than 3 feet and do not rake them into the street. Placing leaves in the street results in inlets getting plugged and streets getting flooded, causing serious problems for neighborhoods throughout the City. All brush and other yard waste should be placed into a separate pile.
