LEGAL NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
CITY OF BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS

Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 109 East Olive Street, Bloomington, Illinois 61701, until Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. Central Time, at which time they will be publicly opened and read for the following:

BID #2017-34 Outdoor Warning Siren

A pre-bid meeting/site visit will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. central time, in the Public Works Conference Room located at 115 E. Washington, Suite 301, Bloomington, Illinois, 61701. It is highly suggested that interested parties attend. We encourage potential bidders to visit the site of the existing siren and the proposed siren and come with any questions to the pre-bid meeting.

Bid documents are to be obtained from the City of Bloomington Procurement Services by sending an email to procurement@cityblm.org. Respondents must provide their complete name, company name, street address, telephone number, fax number and their email address.

Bid documents may also be obtained at the office of the City Clerk, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central time. Only contractors recorded with the City, as a bona fide plan holder, are eligible for the contract award.

The City of Bloomington reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities.

The City of Bloomington requires all contractors doing business with the City not to discriminate on the basis of race, age, color, religion, gender, ancestry, national origin, marital status, mental or physical disability unrelated to ability, familial status or sexual orientation.

Bid must be accompanied by a Bid guaranty which shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price, within ten (10) business days after the bid award.

Contractors shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).
