My Heart in a Suitcase is the compelling dramatic adaptation of Anne Lehmann Fox’s courageous autobiographical account of her experiences as a 12 year old on the Kindertransport out of Germany. Beginning in December 1938, Anne and 10,000 other Jewish children fled Germany, without their parents, on the Kindertransport, afraid and uncertain of what the future would hold for them and the families they were forced to leave behind. The heroic Anne struggles to bring meaning out of despair, to cling to love and hope even in a world that seems to be filled with hatred and violence. My Heart is a Suitcase is a gripping, poignant, and dramatic tribute to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit to triumph over unimaginable hardship.
