"Buddy Holly's Winter Dance Party"
Buddy Holly’s Winter Dance Party
Saturday, February 7, 7:30 pm
Pre-show discussion at 6:45 pm
Fifty years will have passed since the February 3, 1959, plane crash that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. Richardson, the “Big Bopper,” but the music, nostalgia, and energy of their Winter Dance Party tour lives on in this spectacular performance endorsed by the Holly and Valens estates. Featuring the hit songs of the era, including the songs (“That’ll Be The Day,” “Peggy Sue,” “La Bamba,” and “Chantilly Lace,”) that made each artist famous, the Winter Dance Party shows off each singer for what he was: an amazing performer whose music defined a generation. “Flawless … rings as clear and true as a chord from a Fender Stratocaster” ( Chicago Tribune ).
