Duke Ellington Orchestra
Saturday, October 10, 7:30 pm
Duke Ellington was one of the most influential figures in jazz, if not all of American music. Over his lifetime he created over two thousand pieces of music, including the standards “Take the A-Train,” “Mood Indigo” and "It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)," as well as extended suites including "Black, Brown, and Beige," "Liberian Suite," and "Afro-Eurasian Eclipse."
Under the direction of Barrie Lee Hall, Jr., the Duke Ellington Orchestra is a national treasure, its pulse kicking, capturing the magic of the past and bringing new audiences into the spell of this American legend.
