Zoo Seasonal Assistant:

Nature of Work:
This seasonal position involves grounds care, removal of trash, recycling, light janitorial duties, assisting zoo keepers with exhibit repair, and operating zoo carousel.
Duties:
Duties include: removing trash from trash containers; planting flowers and shrubs; watering grass and botanical displays; cleaning public rest rooms as needed; recycling cardboard, plastics, etc.; assisting zoo keepers with exhibit maintenance; operating the zoo carousel as needed.
Hours:
The position will be 40 hours a week from mid-May through mid-September. It will include working weekends and holidays; days off will be weekdays. Hours will be 8 am - 5 pm or
9:00 am - 6:00 pm.
Requirements:
1. Applicants must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
2. Must have a valid drivers license.
3. Must be able to work in all kinds of weather.
Starting salary: $9.00 per hour
