Stage Crew Cultural District
 
Stage Crew I and II positions supporting productions for the Cultural District are now available. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule includingnights and weekends. Previous theater experience preferred. $8.00 per hr and up. 
 
Stage Crew I
 
Nature of Work:
This is a seasonal position which will support productions at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. Tasks may include some of , but not limited to, lighting hang and focus, Sound set up, operation of counterweight and hemp fly systems, hanging drops and scenery, light construction as needed, maintain equipment, PA and Video set up, loading and unloading of semi trucks, operation of follow spots, stage setup and strike, and other duties associated with backstage operations.
 
These positions will require flexible work hours including evenings and weekends as necessary.
 
Supervised by: Cultural District Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director and Stage Crew II
 
Desirable knowledge, abilities and skills:
Self motivated and enthusiastic
Ability to work in tight spaces
Ability to work on ladders
Basic mechanical knowledge
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to deal with on the spot changes and adapt too many different types of performance needs.
Ability to use some power tools
Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
Able to work long hours on your feet and moving most of the time
Able to lift 40 lbs to table top height
Previous Theatrical equipment operations a plus
 
Qualifications:
Some previous theatre experience preferred
 
Requirements:
Reliable transportation
Must attend staff training
Minimum age 16
 
Salary:            $8.00 - $10.00 per hour

Stage Crew II
 
Nature of Work:
This is a seasonal position which will support productions at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. Tasks may include some of, but not limited to, light board operation, lighting hang and focus, sound set up and engineer, operation of counterweight and hemp fly systems, hanging drops and scenery, light construction as needed, organizing and maintaining equipment, PA and Video set up, calling cues, moving scenery, some minimal design work, stage management duties and other duties associated with backstage operations.
 
 These positions will require flexible work hours including evenings and weekends as necessary.
 
Supervised by: Cultural District Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director
 
Desirable knowledge, abilities and skills:
Ability to manage small groups and make decisions based on BCPA guidelines to promote an efficient and safe work environment.
Ability to work in tight spaces
Basic mechanical knowledge
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to deal with on the spot changes and adapt to many different types of performance needs.
Ability to use some power tools
Self motivated and enthusiastic
Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
Previous Theatrical equipment operations a plus
 
Qualifications:
Some previous theatre experience or related experience in sound, lighting or construction
 
Requirements:

Must attend staff training
Minimum age 18
 
Salary:            $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
