within the city of Bloomington. Our goal is to provide age appropriate education for
your child that starts with their understanding that "firefighters are helpers"
in the community. We continue to build upon this message to make sure students can
bring this message of fire safety to the home.

Hazard House is a 3D educational simulator, the size of a large doll house. It sets up quickly and provides an interactive learning experience in fire prevention and life safety, along with what to do in case of emergencies. This educational pro- gram lasts approximately 30 minutes and is for children in our community, ages 8 to 12 years old; and works best for groups of 25 or less.

Fire Extinguisher Training - The Public Education Office provides fire extinguisher training, using our "Digital Fire Extinguisher Training Equipment". This is used in conjunction with a power point presentation, and can be done entirely indoors. Or, we can use our "Propane Based Fire Extinguisher Training", so the trainees can extinguish an actual fire - both methods are environmentally friendly. This training is available to businesses, groups and organizations. While there is no charge for this training, a donation of two name brand "UL" approved smoke alarms is requested. These smoke alarms are used for our smoke alarm give away program.

CPR/AED/First-Aid Training - The public Education Office provides CPR/AED training for the community in
cooperation with the American Heart Association. We do limit this class to non-profit organizations.
