| The White Place Historic
District is architecturally significant for it contains well-preserved
examples of early twentieth century homes. Two-story homes with
uniformity of mass and shape created from stock plans contribute
to a distinct district. Steam heat for the homes was once provided
by a centralized heating plant. The sewer, water and gas connections
were made through the alleys in the rear and heavy teams were
able to deliver their goods through that way so that the boulevard
would be used only for pleasure driving. |
