The Fleet Management Department is responsible for approximately 450 vehicles and equipment throughout the City of Bloomington fleet. The Fleet Management facility located at 336 S. Main St. is staffed with nine full-time employees at two seasonal employees. The full-time staff consists of the Director of Fleet Management, Superintendent of Fleet Maintenance, Administrative Assistant and seven highly trained technicians.
The fleet consists of vehicles ranging from compact cars to large dump trucks, sewer cleaning equipment, police cars and fire fighting apparatus. The equipment range from small mowers and pumps to large construction equipment.
With minor exceptions all vehicles and equipment are purchased through and are maintained by the staff of the Fleet Management Facility.
The facility performs all upfitting, preventative maintenance, predicted maintenance, repairs and decommissioning of the City's fleet.
The management staff is also responsible for the fuel purchases for the City.
The Vehicle Maintenance Facility is open Monday thru Friday 6:00am to 10:30pm and 6:00am to 9:30pm Memorial Day to Labor Day.
