Monetary Theft at Bloomington City Hall
In July of 2012 the Bloomington Police Department Criminal Investigation Division was asked by City Manager David Hales to investigate an alleged monetary theft from the City of Bloomington by a city employee. The thefts began in September of 2011 and ended in December of 2011.
The investigation continued to January of 2013 when enough evidence had been obtained to submit a request for a Warrant to the McLean County States Attorney. The amount taken was approximately $21,000. City officials will not have additional comments on the specific allegations during the pendency of the prosecution.
A warrant was issued on February 21, 2013 for the charge of:
Theft / $10K-100K / SCH / WRSHP / Govt Stat:720 ILCS 5/16-1(a)(1).
Wanted on the warrant is Leslie J. Weaver, aka Leslie J. Lebel, aka Leslie J. Darnall age 35, currently residing in Sherrard, IL
At 11:32am on Friday, February 22, Members of the US Marshalls Fugitive Task Force took Lebel into custody at her home in Sherrard, IL. Lebel was taken to the Rock Island County Jail to await extradition to McLean County.
Bail was set at $1,000,000.00, Bond - 10%.
