Diana DeSio Hauman was appointed to the Bloomington City Council in September 2014 to represent Ward 8 which includes portions of the east and southeast sides of Bloomington.
She was born and raised in western New York, attended the Rochester Institute of Technology (B.S.) and the University of St. Francis, Joliet (M.S., academic distinction). Diana moved to Illinois in 1980 and has called Bloomington home since 1995. Diana is semi-retired, having worked in the area of performance development for over 25 years first for Budget Rent a Car Corporation and then as an independent contractor. She continues to facilitate programs for the American Management Association in management and leadership development.
She is currently involved in our community with the Multicultural Leadership Program (board member, committee chair), the Kiwanis Club of Bloomington (past president), Sunrise Speakers Toastmasters Club (membership VP, past club president, past district secretary), the McLean County League of Women Voters (nominating chair), and the Champagne British Car Festival (secretary). She has also been active in the Central Illinois Chapter, American Society for Training and Development (now the Association for Talent Development).
Diana is married and has two adult step-children and two grandchildren. When discussing where to live in retirement, Diana and Dave felt that Bloomington had all that they needed and renovated their backyard to become their vacation/retirement home.
