Robert Fazzini was born in Chicago Heights; his father was a union steelworker. Fazzini lived in several Chicago suburbs, then Amsterdam, Athens and Taipei followed by Rochelle prior to returning to Bloomington in 1988. Rob and his wife Lynne have been married for 49 years and they have 3 daughters and 2 grandsons.
Robert graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University prior to attending the University of Chicago MBA program. Fazzini has taught at Los Angeles Community College, Maryland Community College and various Illinois Bankers’ schools, as well as guest lectured at IWU, ISU, U of I and NIU.
Robert worked at Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company for 21 years, First National Bank and Trust Company for 5 years and served as Market Area President for Busey Bank prior to retiring in early 2011 after opening the first Busey Bank location nearly 22 years ago. Robert served the American Bankers’ Association as a Banking Advisor doing media tours in the 50 largest media markets for 11 years and was the State Membership Chairman for four years.
Fazzini is the past president of the Chamber of Commerce and the BroMenn Advisory Council. Robert served as the General Chairman of Leadership McLean County, First Vice President of Uniquely Bloomington Commission, Board Member of Humane Society, ISU Community Partner, Normal Theater Volunteer for 14 years, and American Junior League baseball coach for four years. Robert is currently the President Elect of the McLean County Museum of History.
