Future Projects  

Lincoln Street Resurfacing

Main to Bunn &

McGregor to Mercer

This project includes resurfacing of the existing street and will complement the section opened in the October of 2009. This project is to be bid in the spring of 2010.  This project is being funded through the State of Illinois Emergency Repair Program.

Ireland Grove Road Resurfacing

Little Kickapoo Creek Bridge to Dover

This project includes resurfacing of the existing concrete street. This project is to be bid in the spring of 2010.  This project is being funded through the State of Illinois Emergency Repair Program.

Locust Colton CSO Elimination - Phase 1

BHS to Country Club to Washington

This is the start of a multi-phase project to separate sewers leading to the CSO - Combined Sewer Overflow at Locust Street and at Colton Avenue.  Phase 1 currently includes the area as shown on the location map.  Most of the construction work will be done in the streets of  Towanda, Country Club, Perrin, Jefferson, Washington and Mercer.  Work to be done includes new sanitary and storm sewers as well as some replacement watermain. 

A public meeting was held at 6 PM on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Bloomington Junior High School Cafeteria. The meeting began with a presentation giving an overview of the proposed project.  Following the presentation there was time for questions. 


Tanner Street Reconstruction

Morris to Lake

This project includes the complete removal of the existing Tanner Street between Morris Avenue and Lake Drive. The new road will be a concrete pavement with curb and gutter.  The alignment of Tanner Street will be shifted to line up with Butchers Lane at Morris Avenue. There will be a roundabout intersection constructed at Lake Drive, Tanner Street and the entrance to Forrest Park.  


Lafayette St. Reconstruction from Maple to Morrissey (US 150)

Maple Street Reconstruction from Beechwood to Lafayette

This project includes the complete removal of the existing roads and reconstructing them with curb and gutter and sidewalks.  Lafayette Street will be 3 lane with a center two way left turn lane.
