
Bernard "Bernie" Anderson
Bernie was elected in April 2009 to serve as Ward 1 Alderman and was sworn in May 1, 2009.
Bernie has lived on Bloomington’s southwest side for 18 years. He is an Illinois State University graduate, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Minor in Risk Management.
Bernie is a member of the Illinois State University College of Business Advisory Board, McLean County Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee, marcfirst Board of Directors, Holy Trinity Church Council, and Kiwanis of Bloomington. Bernie is a former chair of the McLean County Regional Planning Commission and chaired the McLean County Transportation Committee. He also served on the W. D. Boyce Boy Scout Council Board and McLean County United Way Board.
Bernie has worked for Nicor Gas for 29 years, with responsibilities in the areas of municipal government, economic development, and emergency response training. He also serves as media spokesperson for Nicor.
Bernie and his wife Pam have three adult children.
