The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) has a cooperative management agreement with the City of Bloomington to manage the fisheries in these lakes. The IDNR routinely conducts fish surveys to evaluate the quality of each fishery. Regulations are put in place to allow anglers to harvest fish, but also limit the overharvest of bass and catfish.
Questions regarding fish surveys and the management of the Park District Lakes can be directed to Mike Garthaus, IDNR District Fisheries Biologist. He can be reached at 217-784-4730 ext 232 or by email at mike.garthaus@illinois.gov.
