Employment Opportunities
Bloomington Parks and Recreation employs 52 full-time staff and over 200 part-time and seasonal staff throughout the year to serve the over 75,000 City of Bloomington residents. Applications are available at the City of Bloomington Human Resources department in City Hall or for download from the City's Job Board. A listing of seasonal positions with job descriptions is also available through the Human Resources department or the Job Board when active. Seasonal employee positions include skate guards, facility operation staff, sports coaches, volleyball supervisor, clubhouse staff, recreation leaders, and recreation instructors. Instructors are hired for a variety of programs including preschool sports.
The department receives hundreds of applications each year to fill its seasonal positions. Unfortunately, there are only a limited number of positions available. You will be contacted for an interview if you are being considered for a position. If you do not hear from us, you most likely are not being considered at the present time.
All positions offered are contingent on the individual successfully completing a physical and drug screen. The City of Bloomington will also conduct a criminal background check on all prospective employees.
