Teens & Tweens
Twin City Teen Council
The Teen Council provides local junior high and high school students an opportunity to help plan educational, volunteer, and recreational events for teens in the community. Teen Council events are planned for teen, by teens.
The Council meets once a month on the third Thursday at 4:30 pm. Locations vary so give us a call or email to find out where the meeting will be held. So if you have an interest in learning a bit about local government or if you have ideas for new activities and programs, give us a call today.
For further information or to inquire about joining the council, please email jeichholz@cityblm.org or call Jill at (309) 434-2260.
Battle of the Bands
The Twin City Teen Council hosts this annual event in February each year at the Lincoln Leisure Center. Interested high school bands audition at the end of January. The top four bands are chosen to play at the Battle of the Bands. Admission is $3 and you must show a high school ID or drivers license. Check out www.tcteens.org to get the whole scoop.

Special Interest Classes
Learning to Throw, Joy of Painting, Jazz & Hip Hop, Beginner Guitar classes and more will keep you busy if you're stuck indoors. Most adult classes are also available to teens! Browse our online brochure or check our current program guide for information on dates, times, fees, and locations. Pre-registration is required.
How Can I Help?
We know that active teens love to do things for the community, and sometimes you need community service hours as well. The Parks & Recreation Department organizes many special events and programs that would be made better by your energy and smiles! Check out volunteer opportunities.
