The City of Bloomington plans snow routes based on its goal to keep motorists as safe as possible and clear streets as quickly as possible given available resources. During a snow or ice event, Public Works employees take a systematic approach to clearing street and will work around the clock if necessary.

During large events, Public Works uses the above map to keep the public informed about where snow plows are operating throughout the city. The map shows a district as either "Not Active," "In Progress," or "Completed."

  • If a district is marked as "Not Active," it will be gray. This means crews have not started work in a district.
  • If a district is marked as "In Progress," it will be blue. This means crews have started working in a district.
  • If a district is marked as "Completed," it will be green. This means crews have completed work in a district.
