3rd Street Down is the latest project from singer/songwriter/guitarist Austin Willis. His Old-School passion for Blues/R&B is fused with a bold rock outfit driven by a 3-piece rhythm section featuring Kendal Johnson (Drums), Logan Berg (Bass) and Jake Denny (Guitar). The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) stage lights are being turned on and the spotlight is warming up as the staff and stage crews prepare for a new Summer Virtual Concert Series.

 “This seven-week virtual concert series will be a showcase for local talent,” says Jim Mack, Performing Arts Manager at the BCPA, adding 
“The recorded sessions will be streamed on the BCPA’s social media platforms on a weekly basis beginning Thursday, July 2nd at 7:30 PM

 Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the State of Illinois’ re-opening plan theaters like the BCPA are limited to how many people can be onsite with that in mind artists and staff alike will adhere to the current CDC safety guidelines while producing these concerts.

 “The lineup of acts runs through the entire musical spectrum said JongHun Kim Artistic Manager at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA), 
adding “It really showcases the diversity of the local music scene here in central Illinois.

 Opening the series on Thursday, July 2 at 7:30 PM will be Brushville (Upbeat Rocking Country), July 9 at 7:30 PM will bring Last Call Band (Rock and R&B) on July 16 at 7:30 Sara Quah Band (Rock, Country, R&B) will take the stage. Continuing the series on Thursday, July 23 at 7:30 PM will be Soft Spoken (Funk, Jazz, R&B, Neo Soul) with 3rd Street Down (Blues, R&B, Rock) performing on Thursday, July 30. The final two performances to close out the series will be Disorganizer (free jazz, unique instrumental music) on Thursday, August 6 at 7:30 PM and Dan Burke Quintet (numerous styles of jazz) on Thursday August 13 at 7:30 PM.
