Mayor's Open Houses Resume Original Format
As of Friday, April 20, Mayor Tari Renner’s Open House events will resume their original format consisting of a gathering of interested individuals in the City Hall “Fishbowl” meeting room. Since late last year, the Mayor had been conducting a trial run of holding these events as a series of individual five to ten minute appointments in his office.
“After trying both formats, the original seems to work better at this time,” explains Mayor Renner. “I’m always looking for the best and most innovative ideas to engage residents and enhance transparency, and it’s important to try different ways of doing that. These Open Houses that I began when I was elected Mayor are one of the many avenues available to residents to have their voices heard at City Hall and engage with their elected officials, something that I believe to be absolutely essential.”
Mayor’s Open Houses are held at City Hall every Friday before a regular City Council meeting from 4:30-5:30 pm. They are open to anyone that wishes to attend.
