Public Hearings Regarding S-4 Consideration for Downtown State Farm Building No Longer Anticipated for September 19

BLOOMINGTON, IL– The public hearings regarding S-4 consideration for the Downtown State Farm building originally anticipated for the Thursday, September 19 Historic Preservation Commission meeting will not take place at this time. The nominating form submitted by Greg Koos has been withdrawn.

“This is in recognition of the welcome sale of the building to a historic building redevelopment company,” Greg Koos states in a letter to City Manager Gleason.

“Given Friday’s great news regarding the building’s pending sale, this is absolutely the right move,” adds City Manager Gleason. “It is the City’s wish to support the sale and redevelopment of this building however is appropriate, and this meets that goal.”

A hearing for another S-4 nomination for the State Farm building has been tabled by Historic Preservation Commission Chairperson Lea Kline, pending the building’s sale. The Historic Preservation meeting will still take place on September 19 at 5 pm so the Commission may consider other items.
