Man Arrested after Critically Injuring his Five Month Old Child

 

Bloomington, IL – On Tuesday, 11/19/2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Bloomington and Normal Fire Departments responded to a residence on Willedrob Road in Bloomington for an unresponsive five month old child. The rescue team rendered aid and transported the child initially to OSF St. Joseph's Medical Center in Bloomington. The child was then transported that same day to OSF Children's Hospital in Peoria where the child still remains in critical condition. Bloomington Police Department officers were later called to OSF St. Joseph's Medical Center to investigate the child's injuries.

 

On Thursday afternoon, 11/21/19, Bloomington detectives arrested Jordan D. Powe, 27, of Bloomington, in regards to this incident.

 

Jordan Powe was charged by the McLean County State's Attorney today with:

-Aggravated domestic battery

-Aggravated battery of a child under 13 years old that caused a permanent disability

 

His bond is $400,000 - 10% to apply.

 

This incident is still under investigation and no more information will be released at this time.
