Bloomington Man Arrested for Gun Possession and Drug Offenses

Bloomington Man Arrested for Gun Possession and Drug Offenses

 

Bloomington, IL – On April 1st, 2020, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the BPD's Street Crimes Unit initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the 700 block of S. Main St. As a result of the traffic stop, Brian K. Burnett, 29, of Bloomington, was arrested without incident for offenses related to illegal drug sales.

 

Ultimately, BPD's Street Crimes Unit applied for and were granted a search warrant for Burnett's residence in the 600 block of W. Mill St. As a result of the executed search warrant, additional drugs, an undisclosed amount of cash, drug sales material, and a stolen pistol was recovered.

 

Burnett was arrested for:

-Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Class X felony)

-Possession of a Firearm by a Gang Member (Class 2 felony)

-Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (UUW - No FOID) (Class 4 felony)

-Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 4 felony)

-Possession of Cannabis 30-500 grams (Class 4 felony)

-Manufacture/Delivery of Cannabis 10-30 grams (Class 4 felony)

 

Burnett was transported to the McLean County Jail. Burnett's bond amount was listed at 100,000% - 10% to apply.

 

All suspect(s) are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in the court of law.
