Updates

4/16 Bulk & Brush Update

Post Date:04/16/2020 3:06 PM

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Bloomington has temporarily cut back solid waste staffing, implementing new policies to limit contact between staff and citizens in following CDC guidelines and best practices. With those changes, the City has reduced the number of crews collecting brush and bulk to a single crew. This has resulted  in brush and bulk pickup running behind the normal schedule. Weekly updates will be posted to keep citizens up-to-date on the status of brush and bulk collection.

The following areas are projected to have brush and bulk collection for the week ending April 17 and the week beginning April 20. However, as these routes are more dense than other areas, it make take additional time to complete them.

Beginning Thursday, April 16 (2 to 3 weekdays): From Center Street to Morris Avenue and from Oakland Avenue to Wood Street

Beginning Tuesday, April 21 (2 to 3 weekdays): From Wood Street to Tanner Street  and from Main Street to Morris Avenue

Solid Waste Program users may also take bulk and brush to the citizen Convenience Center, which is located at 402 S. East Street in Bloomington (south of the Bloomington Public Library) and is open from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesdays. The facility is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and municipal holidays.
