Memorial Day and Bulk/Brush Collection Update 5/21/2020

City offices are closed on Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day.

Memorial Day Solid Waste Collection
Garbage and recycling will be collected on regularly-scheduled collection days. Bulk waste and brush will not be collected, and the Citizen Convenience Center will be closed, on Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day.

Weekly Bulk/Brush Update
Weekly updates will be posted to keep citizens up-to-date on the status of regular bulk and brush collection. These updates reflect the anticipated schedule of regular collection and are unrelated to the community-wide bulk collection scheduled to begin July 6. The following areas are projected to have brush and bulk collection from May 22 through May 29Please keep in mind that these are estimates and may change as a result of the larger-than-normal amount of bulk and brush at the curb.

May 22: Continue Unshaded Wednesday
May 25: Memorial Day – No Bulk/Brush Collection
May 26: Complete Unshaded Wednesday
May 27: Begin Unshaded Thursday
May 28: Complete Unshaded Thursday
May 29: Begin Unshaded Friday

Solid Waste Program users should have all waste on the curb by 6 a.m. on their collection day for garbage and recycling and on the scheduled day indicated by these updates for bulk and brush. Users may also take bulk and brush to the citizen Convenience Center, which is located at 402 S. East Street in Bloomington (south of the Bloomington Public Library) and is open from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesdays. The facility is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and municipal holidays.
