CITY OF BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS
Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 109 East Olive Street, Bloomington, Illinois 61701, until Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 2:00 PM at which time they will be publicly opened and read for the following:
FAU 6354 (General Electric Road) & Keaton Place/auto row Dr. Intersection IMPROVEMENT, MFT No. 13-00351-00-TL
This project consists of the following major work items:
1392 Sq. Yd. P.C.C. Base Course and P.C.C. Base Course Widening
757 Ton Hot Mix Asphalt
1666 Feet Curb and Gutter
2375 Sq. Yd. HMA Surface Removal
New Traffic Signals
and other necessary items and incidentals.
Inquiries as to the requirements of the specifications will be addressed at the Pre-Bid Conference, to be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 10:00 AM in the Public Works Conference Room, located on the 3rd Floor of the Government Center, 115 East Washington Street, Bloomington, Illinois.
Bid documents are to be obtained from the City of Bloomington Procurement Services by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a subject heading of “Bid #2020-10 GE Road & Keaton Place Intersection Improvements”. Respondents must provide their complete name, company name, street address, telephone number, fax number and email address. Only contractors recorded with the City, as a bona fide plan holder, are eligible for the contract award.
The City of Bloomington reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities.
The City of Bloomington requires all contractors doing business with the City not to discriminate on the basis of race, age, color, religion, gender, ancestry, national origin, marital status, mental or physical disability unrelated to ability, familial status or sexual orientation.
Bid must be accompanied by a Bid guaranty which shall not be less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid. Bid guaranty may be a cashier’s check, money order, certified bank check, or a surety bond. All guaranties, except surety bonds, will be deposited and reimbursement checks and surety bonds will be issued to unsuccessful bidders following the bid award. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price, within ten (10) business days after the bid award.
Contractors shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12) including Public Act 100-1177 effective June 1, 2019.
Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after the bid opening date.
