CITY OF BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS
Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the City Clerk at 109 E. Olive Street, Bloomington, IL, 61701, until Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 2:00 PM Central Time at which time they will be publicly opened and read for the following:
UPDATE: We strongly encourage all bid submissions to be sent via USPS or some other courier (i.e FedEx or UPS). If you have to turn in a bid in person, at this time, we you must take it to Grossinger Motors Arena outside box office windows on Front and Madison, Bloomington, IL.
The Bid Opening will now be held at the Grossinger Motors Arena located at 101 S Madison St, Bloomington, IL 61701. Please use the north entrance off of Front Street (the farthest eastern door).
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and reduce the risk of exposure DO NOT attend bid openings if you have experienced any signs or symptoms of respiratory infection such as a fever, cough or shortness of breath or if you have travel outside of the United States. FY 2021 Sidewalk Vertical Displacement Repair Program
This project consists of the following major work items:
1,430 IN-FT of Grinding/Saw Cutting vertical displacements on public sidewalks in the City of Bloomington, IL.
Inquiries as to the requirements of the specifications will be addressed at the Pre-Bid Conference, to be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 10:30 AM in the Legal Conference Room, located in the City Hall Legal Department, Room 107, 109 East Olive Street, Bloomington, Illinois.
Bid documents are to be obtained from the City of Bloomington Procurement Services by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a subject heading of “BID FY 2021 Sidewalk Vertical Displacement Repair Program”. Respondents must provide their complete name, company name, street address, telephone number, fax number and email address. Only contractors recorded with the City, as a bona fide plan holder, are eligible for the contract award.
The City of Bloomington reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities.
The City of Bloomington requires all contractors doing business with the City not to discriminate on the basis of race, age, color, religion, gender, ancestry, national origin, marital status, mental or physical disability unrelated to ability, familial status or sexual orientation.
Bid must be accompanied by a Bid guaranty which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the Bid. Bid guaranty may be a cashier’s check, money order, certified bank check, or a surety bond. All guaranties, except surety bonds, will be deposited and reimbursement checks and surety bonds will be issued to unsuccessful bidders following the bid award. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price, within ten (10) business days after the bid award.
Contractors shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12) including Public Act 100-1177 effective June 1, 2019.
Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after the bid opening date.
