Alderman Kim Bray Bloomington City Council was sworn into office in May 2017.
Kim has been a resident of the Ninth Ward since 2001. She is a long tenured employee of State Farm and currently serves as in-house counsel Corporate Law. Kim and her husband, Harry, are the parents of three grown children; Regina, James and Abigail.
Kim has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Loyola University and a Juris Doctorate degree from University of Baltimore Law School. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the McLean County Bar Association as well as the Maryland Bar. Kim has professional experience in contract law, operations management and catastrophe response.
Kim is a regular volunteer with Illinois Special Olympics and a Moot Court Judge for the Illinois State Bar Association annual high school competition at the University Of Illinois College Of Law. She trained and volunteered as pro-bono counsel with the Immigration Project, assisting legal immigrants in their applications for citizenship. In addition, Kim has held a number of leadership roles with St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Bloomington including board chair and director of education. She volunteers regularly at her church and sings in the choir.
Kim enjoys working on the Bloomington City Council as it gives opportunity to interact with individuals from all areas of the community. She is focused on good governance and delivering quality of life for citizens.
